Lunch & Learn: State's Small Business Credit Initiative

Friday, September 26, 2025 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) is a $96 million investment in growing Iowa's small businesses, startups and manufacturers. The funding is available through the U.S. Treasury Department's SSBCI, a small business aid program that was expanded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act. The Treasury Department approved Iowa's amount based on a plan submitted by Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).

The panel would consist of Anna Lensing, Innovation Team Lead, IEDA, Adrienne Greenwald, Managing Principal, VentureNet Iowa LLC, Kaylee Williams, Investment Director or Micah Walker, Investment Analyst, InnoVenture Iowa, Tricia Rivas, Customer Relations Coordinator, America's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) - Iowa, and myself, Audra Fisher, Manager of Customer Relations, America's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) - Iowa.

We start off with talking about the State's Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) , where the money came from and who received the funds and how it is distributed.  Then Anna Lensing, IEDA goes in depth on the Manufacturing 4.0 Participation Loan and the Collateral Small Business Support Loan (which is now available for all small businesses), then Adrienne Greenwald goes in depth on VentureNet Iowa and then Kaylee Williams or Micah Walker goes in depth on InnoVenture Iowa.  We finish with Tricia Rivas talking about the no cost technical assistance that is available for these 4 programs.  Then I go over what lenders are going to need from the businesses to do a loan. We then turn to the crowd and ask them to tell us their name and what they do and then open the floor to questions.
