1 Million Cups is a free, nationwide program designed to educate, engage, and accelerate early-stage startups. We believe in the notion that entrepreneurs can discover solutions and thrive when they collaborate over a million cups of coffee. Drop in our community of innovators and entrepreneurship enthusiasts to connect and support our local startups. Community members are welcome to attend even if they are not an entrepreneur. Every Wednesday, 9 to 10am. Always free and open to the public. No registration required.
ROAD TRIP: This week's 1 Million Cups will be held at The North Liberty Library and we will hear from their Public Services Librarian, Kellee Forkenbrock.
The North Liberty Library is part of the 17,900 square foot North Liberty Community Center along with three other City departments, including the indoor/outdoor aquatic center, recreation center (gymnasiums, children’s play area, track, weight area, and meeting and conference rooms), and Community Relations. The North Liberty Library is open seven days a week, for a total of 65 hours. The library operates in conjunction with an advisory board composed of six trustees. Regular programming is provided for all ages throughout the year, including five summer reading programs for babies through adults with weekly activities.

Apply & Present at 1 Million Cups:
Companies that are less than 5 years old and open to community engagement can apply to present at a 1MC event. All industries welcome. The application takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed, and the community organizers will get back to you with any follow-up questions. You'll work together to schedule a presentation date.
Sharing your business at a 1MC event gives you the opportunity to connect with an active and engaged community of fellow entrepreneurs.
- Refine your presentation and elevator pitch.
- Join a community to receive support, including coaching from 1MC organizers.
- Continue to present your business -- in another city or after you have made significant changes.
- Receive feedback from a diverse audience.
- Potentially gain exposure to new markets and people.
- Potentially receive local, regional or national media coverage of your startup.
You'll have 6-10 minutes to tell your community who you are, what you're doing and why you're doing it. After your presentation, there will be a 20-minute Q&A session that will give you the opportunity to connect with your audience, culminating with the million-dollar question: "What can we as a community do to help you?"
