The Greater Iowa City, Inc. Lunch Connections bring together business professionals, community leaders, and city officials. All are invited to learn about city plans and events affecting business, local resources, and new opportunities. Join us for lunch, a brief program, and informal networking.
Venue: This week, we will meet at the Tom Harkin Trailhead. Registration is requested, preparing the venue to serve lunch in a timely manner, but drop-ins are welcome. Lunch will be provided courtesy of the City of Coralville!
Program: Jim Conard from West Bank will host this program! Presenting will be Caleb Wilson from Southgate Companies, who recently completed construction of the CIVCO building in Coralville, and Joe Hughes with Navigate Homes, who recently had their Ribbon Cutting + Business at their new location at 2303 Jones Blvd. in Coralville. We’ll also hear from Sherri Proud, sharing the City of Coralville’s perspective, and Jake Beltz, Bike Department Manager at Scheels.
The program will highlight the Coralville bike trail system around the Tom Harkin Trailhead, including its background, story, and tips for enjoying it with family and friends. We’ll also discuss the different types of bikes and how to choose the right one for trails and other surfaces. Finally, the group will explore the Coralville/Iowa City biking community, local group rides and events, and how Coralville is positioning cycling as a community amenity to attract and retain families in our area.
Following the 20-minute discussion, attendees will be invited to join an optional short guided group ride on the trail near the Tom Harkin Trailhead!
